Torres del Avellano is a remote granite massif rising above the north shore of General Carrera Lake, in Chilean Patagonia's Aysén region. Guías del Avellano offers the only guided 3-day trek to this destination, departing from Bahía Murta on the Carretera Austral. Scheduled departures run October to March, with open groups of maximum 7 people. Fully guided. All-inclusive except sleeping bag, sleeping mat, and personal flights.

What happens on trail
Three days. No signal. No crowds. The summit view on Day 2 makes the whole thing worth it.
Access & first camp
Transfer from Bahía Murta to the trailhead. Native lenga beech forest, first river crossing, climb to the base camp plateau above General Carrera Lake. First views of the Avellano massif.

The towers
The summit day. A 3–4 hour ascent to the base of the granite towers — massive, vertical, almost entirely unknown. Descent back to camp in the afternoon.

Return to Bahía Murta
Same trail back, completely different light. Transfer back to Bahía Murta by midday. End of expedition.
